The aculight hair removal system uses pulsed light to remove hair and impair hair re-growth. After cooling the desired area with an ice pack and applying cooling gel and hand held treatment to the skin, pulses of light safely penetrate the skin and disable hundreds of hair follicles simultaneously. Much of the hair is wiped off when removing the gel. The remaining hair in the treated area will fall out within a week or two.

It can remove all hair colours except white or very blonde. For lighter hair with slight pigment it may take more sessions and need to be finished with some Electrolysis. Can treat all parts of the body, as well as sensitive areas like ears, nose etc.

When a pulse of light is delivered to the hair, you may feel a mild sting or pinch. Some say similar to an elastic band flick.

This varies depending on your hair colour, area of the body or why the hairs are there in the first place. We tend to say between 6-12 sessions. In some cases the hair growth can be influenced by hormonal imbalances or changes to the body therefore more sessions may be required. This will be discussed on consultation.

All hair follicles in the anagen growth cycle that have been treated by aculight IPL will have been permanently removed and will never grow hair again. However the hair follicle that was not in the anagen growth cycle cannot be treated, so for best results multiple treatments are required.
